La Corbiere lighthouse

Ocean-side view
[August 10] There's a brown brick building off to the side and below the lighthouse. I'm not sure what its use is, or even how to enter the building, but I spent some time adding some details. This is an in-game shot.
Ocean-side view
[August 10] Another view of the brick building, but this time it's a rendered view.
Back view
[August 10] A view of the other side of the brick building. I think this is the entrance to the building; it's either from the space between the two buildings, or from the ocean side of the brick building (there's a door). I've only been able to find one photo of this area and it focuses on the lighthouse...
Back view
[August 17] I've got a bit more detail in place, so the rest of the screenshots will are rendered with AO to better show them off. This is the same camera as in the previous shot and what a difference the AO makes--the details just pop. There's nothing else new in this view--all the new work is at the base of the island.
Ocean-side view
[August 17] One thing you'll notice in this shot is the lack of vertex painting--I'm not sure why it shows up on some meshes and not others, as they all have it.
Causeway-side view
[August 17] An aerial view showing the front of the lighthouse. This is the first shot where you might notice a change in the rocky terrain mesh; trying to work from a highly subdivided plane simply isn't working, so I decided to build the rough mesh from a collection of cylinders.
Base view
[August 17] A view from the base of the island. This really shows the new terrain; at this point it's still a collection of separate meshes, so I can model the separate areas more easily. Each mesh is starts with a cylinder and the bottom layer of verts is extruded downwards and scales horizontally to create the hills.
Base view
[August 17] Another shot from the base, this time pulled back to get a view of lower buildings--these are the bulk of today's work. I've only got a couple of good photos of these buildings and I have no idea what they're used for; still, they're easy enough to build and place. In the lower center, you can see the right side of the gate walls; from the photos I've seen, the gate blocks access to the lighthouse itself.
New windows
[August 24] Got the lighthouse's windows in place. This was the most difficult part so far, as the windows had to be modeled and then fit into place; the diameter of the tower changed at each of the three levels, so the arch verts had to be shifted each time. I've also set the lighthouse mesh to smooth, so the planes aren't so obvious.
Base view
[August 24] A view of the current build. In the previous render, some of the meshes didn't have any color and I figured out how to get the vertex painting to render: each mesh needs to have a material set to VCol Paint (in the Shading tab). I'm not sure why some of the meshes had this set already and others didn't, but they're all set now.
