City Walks Composer (CWC) is a tool for creating maps sets for use with City Walks Online.

The tutorial files (images, videos, and .blend file) are available from box.net here. This includes all production and release files, and the image, audio, and video creation tutorials. If you know how to create these already, you might not need this.

Details:

City Walks Online (CWO) is an interactive Flash map viewer. It features a scrollable map, search-and-find for locating points of interest, and the ability to show photos and videos.

Using CWC requires no programming, database, or html skills--just create a startup image, the background map image, and gather your photos and videos. Then add a map object, type in the data, and compile the project. All the necessary files are plonked into a single directory for easy use.

CWC provides you with two runtime options--Local and Website. The Local version is good for projects that will be run from a local computer, CD, or thumbdrive. The Website option is for running the project from a remote server.

This software is still a work in progress. It'll create the mapsets as promised, but it's still a bit rough around the edges. If you run into any problems, please send me an email! You won't get placed on a mailing list and I don't send any spam.

Issues:

7/1: According to the reviewer at the Air Marketplace, CWC does not show a menu while running under MacOS. For now, I have no way to verify this, but it should otherwise run. If you try this on a Mac, please let me know!

Version Changes:

Information map objects are now Photo map objects.
Added Information and Audio map objects.
Fixed map object selection problem.
Fixed selecting / moving map image problem.
Newly added map objects are now placed in the center of the map view.
Map objects can't be dragged beyond the map borders.
